Anvil

Terms of Use

Effective October 27, 2026

These terms are written to be read. They cover the Anvil app for iPhone and iPad.

Who we are

ADK Interactive, LLC, a New York company, makes Anvil. Questions go to support@anvilforgejo.app.

Your license

When you get Anvil from the App Store, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use it on Apple devices you own or control. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it and these terms disagree, these terms win, as far as Apple allows. Don't resell or redistribute Anvil, and don't try to get around its licensing or code signing.

Names and logos

Anvil, ADK Interactive and their logos belong to us. Forgejo, Gitea, Codeberg and other products named in the app belong to their owners. Anvil isn't made by or affiliated with them.

Who can use it

You need to be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.

Your server, your account

Anvil is a client. It works with a Forgejo or Gitea server you sign in to, run by you or someone else. That server's own terms and rules apply to everything you do there. You're responsible for your account on it, the token you give Anvil, and what you do with them, like merging code, deleting branches or changing settings.

Your content stays yours

Your code, issues, comments and everything else stay yours and live on your server. Anvil keeps copies on your device so it's fast and works offline. See the Privacy Policy for what's kept and where.

Other services

Anvil connects to your server and uses Apple features like widgets, Shortcuts and notifications. Those are run by others under their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

Double-check before you act

Anvil shows what your server reports. Cached copies can be out of date, especially offline. Check before you rely on something important, like a merge or a release.

Updates

Updates come through the App Store and are covered by these terms.

No warranty

Anvil is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim about Anvil is limited to the greater of what you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 USD. Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

If a claim comes back to us

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used Anvil, for example something you did on a server you didn't have permission to use, you agree to defend us, cover the costs and hold us harmless.

Stopping

You can stop any time by deleting the app. We can end your license if you break these terms. The sections on warranty, liability, claims and governing law still apply after that.

Governing law

New York State law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York, and you agree to their jurisdiction.

The fine print

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Anvil. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something isn't giving it up. You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We can, for example if Anvil is sold.

Apple

These terms are between you and ADK Interactive, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Anvil, its support or its maintenance, or for any claims about it. If Anvil fails any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid. That's Apple's only obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as a third party.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and point out big changes. Using Anvil after that means you accept the new terms.
